Capital City Kiwanis Club hosts 17th Annual Olympics
More than 60 children, representing all three BGCM clubs, participated in the Kiwanis Olympics. Held on Veteran’s Day at our Chisholm Club, youth teams competed in nine events. The teams were made up of children from each club, and each team wore a different color t-shirt, provided by Capital City Kiwanis.
Capital City Kiwanis members on hand were Dale Gentry, President; Becky Booker; Tim Womble; David Brewer; Kirby Smith; Maurice Mitchell; Heather Holcomb.
Representing BGCM were Rick Jackson, Director of Operations, Patty Hackett, Chisholm Unit Director and several other staff member of all three clubs.
Competition was stiff, the cheering was loud, and the laughter was contagious. The fiercely contested events included the football pass, three-legged race, soccer ball throw, jump the river, egg race, shot-put, over and under relay, sack race, and basketball relay.
Trophies were awarded to all members of the First – Third Place teams, and you can see their smiling faces in the photos.
BGCM and the children sincerely thank Capital City Kiwanis for its ongoing support of our organization and programs. We hope to continue this special event for years to come.
