What does it cost to become a member of a unit of Boys & Girls Clubs of the River Region?

• Annual membership is $5 per child – there are no additional program fees. 

How many clubs are there and where are they located?

• Boys & Girls Clubs of the River Region operates three clubs:  West End Club, 220 Crenshaw Street, Chisholm Club, 2612 Lower Wetumpka Road and Wetumpka Club, 499 Alabama Street.

What are the hours the clubs are open each day?

• During the school year our three clubs are open Monday-Friday from the hours of 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm.  During the summer months and on school holidays, the clubs are open from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.

What are the ages of the children served by Boys & Girls Clubs of the River Region?

• Children between the ages of 6-18 can become members of any of our three clubs.  There is a membership application and annual membership fee of $5 required of each member.  To transfer from one club to another there is a transfer fee of $1.

How are the programs of Boys & Girls Clubs of the River Region funded?

• Boys & Girls Clubs of the River Region is a United Way agency and we receive funding from the River Region United Way.  Our organization is the recipient of several public and private grants; including support from the City of Montgomery, Montgomery County, City of Wetumpka, and Elmore County.  The Board of Directors of the organization is also very active in fundraising in the community through our annual golf tournament and individual fundraising campaign.

• You can help by making a charitable contribution, volunteering your time, contributing program materials and supplies, participating in our golf tournament, and telling others about Boys & Girls Clubs of the River Region.

What percent of your budget goes towards administration and fundraising expenses?

• In 2004, 11% of our budget went to management and 8% to fundraising expenses. 81% of our budget went directly to programs and services.
